Manic Mondays....?
Well, you see, i got bored of manic mondays and so, I decided to stop being the host of the event and well, now it doesn't exists. Sorry to disappoint but I just lost motivation.....mondays are kind of busy for me. Feel free to start it back up though and I will participate sometimes. LOVES

Groundhog's Day?!!?
Apparently our little friend Punxsutawney Phil is predicting 6 more weeks of winter. UGH! Not a fan!

Manic Monday

Seriously people...GIVE ME A BREAK. Yeah, so I totally spaced last weeks manic monday, but i didn't forget today, I just have responsibilities to attend to before I can get it posted (such as a thing called WORK). Anyway, for all of you that have been patient with me, thanks! For those of you who haven't BOO TO YOU! JK
Since tomorrow is the Inauguration of our 44th president of the United States of America, today's manic monday is a dedications to past, present and future presidents. To learn more about the Presidents of the United States go here...
First Folder: 20 (in honor of the 20th of January...)
Second Folder: 43 (in honor of President Bush...his years in office helped us through some hard times. I appriciate all President Bush gave for America to maintain it's freedom)
Picture Post: 44 (in honor of our new President Obama...let's hope that he brings the change America needs to thrive again)
This is the third page of a digital scrapbook I am working on highlighting Calvin's first year of life. This picture was taken moments after we were offically parents! A gift we will always cherish and never forget!

Random...Random...Random...
This week my mind is still recovering from the holiday season, so the theme is Random! I am randomly going to pick three numbers...you chose which number you want to go where and then post the picture! Easy enough right? Sweet, let's get started:

Ooolala..a mushy picture! This is actually a picture of a picture because we don't have a scanner yet....but this picture was taken right after Joel proposed to me on July 5. 2003 in Keizer, Oregon. He had surprised me with a tiki torch surrounded bonfire with a strawberry cheesecake and a gorgious ring that was two sizes too big! haha
If you are looking for a New Years Resolution, feel free to use Manic Monday as one of them. We are always looking for more people to play with us...so come on in and join the fun! See you next week

This is a picture of Joel doing the "rubber man". The rubber man is a tradmark dance he does, since he doesn't know how to dance at all. I think he made it up in middle school or something....anyway, this was at a forth of July celebration in Oregon in 2006 at Mike and Shar's house.

Christmas cheer, for all to.....See?
Merry Christmas Everyone! I hope you guys are having a great Christmas Season, and I hope your week is filled with fun and enjoyment. This year for Christmas, Joel and I have been blessed by the kindness of others and are excited to have the true meaning of Christmas (the birth of Jesus Christ, our Savior) fill our hearts and minds.

Joel's Picture: This is a picture from one of Joel's birthday parties. This was taken Aug, 30 2003. We had just gotten home from a two day drive across the Nation from New York to Idaho. For those of you who don't know Joel very well, he has times when he is addicted to pirate things..hence the eye patch and hook on his hand!
Lila's Picture: This picture was taken at the beginnging on November this year in Rexburg Idaho. We had a Strasser Family Shindig at Big Juds and this is all who came! It was a ton of fun and probably one of the biggest groups we have ever had show up for a party. I also would venter to say that Matt and Shannon (who were here) have never been around so many strassers in their lives! LOL

Manic Monday
Well, I was getting ready for bed today and realized "holy crap, it is Monday and I haven't done Manic Monday yet.." So here I am, with two hours to spare until Monday is officially over! It has really been that crazy around here....I struggle always to know what day it is! LOL
POP QUIZ: ARE YOU USING YOUR CAMERA WEEKLY?
Today's theme is to test your photo taking abilities and to see if you are putting those cameras to work. This Manic Monday will have three pictures to it...If you haven't been using your camera lately, then you will just have to post this saying, "MISSED EVENTS OF LAST WEEK, WILL TRY TO DO BETTER IN THE FUTURE."
That is right, this is like a pop quiz!
First picture: Any picture of your choice taken between December 6th-9th
Second picture: Any picture of your choice taken between December 10th-12th
Third picture: The 12th picture you took on Thanksgiving Day
Make sure you list the date the picture was taken and a little caption describing the photograph
Picture two: This picture was taken on December 11th. Calvin has now officially begun sucking on his toes and he really loves holding them up in the air whenever he can. I thought it was so darling that I took a picture...FYI joel has given Calvin the nickname of LOAD because he is such a chunkers!

Picture 1: This was taken on December 9th. We had some snow fall and it was melting off my neighbor's roof into our backyard. I thought it looked cool, so I tried to get a few pictures of it. I never posted them though because I didn't think it looked as cool in the photo than in real life.

Manic Monday
Happy Thanksgiving!
In sticking with the theme of the most recent holiday, I decided that today's manic monday was going to reflect on who, what, and where we spent Thanksgiving this year.
The first folder to select will be #17. This is how many letters there are in happy thanksgiving.
The sub folder selection will be the total letters in the STATE where you celebrated thanksgiving....we were in Utah, so my subfolder is 4
The picture to post will be the number of people who ate with you during your thanksgiving dinner TIMES 3......at my thanksgiving feast we had 9 people eating at the table, so my number is 27.

JOEL'S PICTURE: This is a picture of one of the many oil refineries in Iraq. The area where you see fire is how the Iraqis get rid of extra gas...it is always burning I guess
LILA'S PICTURE: This is Heather attempting to hold a snake that Jesse picked up as we were out geocaching near the Teton Dam in May of 2006...she was pretty nervous to try, but after she did it she felt awesome. Joel also held the snake, but me, umm, NO WAY! Haha

A "Shotty" kind of a day....
Now before you go getting all offended by the title of this blog, you need to know that there is a reason for the title......today, I went and got two shots for my new adventure in life, being a substitute for the after school programs that are held here in Green River working with kids from kindergarten to eighth grade. It will help keep me sane and give me variety until we are able to get finalized for fostering. I can work as little or as much as I want and am lucky enough to have Jody living close so she can watch Calvin while he plays with his cousins. I am also going to be helping out with a "Mommy and me" type of class that does allow me to bring Calvin. It should be fun, and much needed since I am pretty much going crazy here because I have practically zero friends and am trying desperately to avoid depression (although somedays are better than others). Those shots that I got hurt, and they will for the next few days....but you got to do what you got to do.
Today I got a box from my good friend Heather....she has recently lost 40lbs and counting, and looks AMAZING I might add!!!! She had quite the build up of clothes that she no longer fit into, so I graciously offered my assistance in helping her forget what she once was. It was perfect, really...I have been living with two maybe three pairs of jeans (although I only really wore one of them) the rest of the time I just kicked it in sweats or pjs all day long....now, I have an abundance of pants and can wear a different pair every day of the week, plus a few days....HOW AMAZING IS THAT? Seriously, Christmas has come early for me! I promised her that I would do a fashion show sometime, and so, in a few days, I will probably post a few pictures of me in my new, super cute, clothes! Really, i am so excited!
In other news, Calvin turns 4 months on Monday! Can you belive it?? I mean really, 4 months already?!?!! He has his check up on Tuesday, which means he will have a "shotty" day as well...I think he is due up for 4 shots, poor fella! He is very active and will be starting cereal very very soon. He has out-grown most of his 3 month clothes, and I have found myself putting him in 6 month sleepers for bed because he is so long that the 3-6 sleepers are pretty tight on him. He loves bath time, jumping in his jumper, playing with himself in the mirror, reading with daddy, and screaming....
As for Joel and me, we are both doing good. Joel still loves his job and is starting to learn more of the ropes. He has been traveling around a lot going to claims and will be on his own in no time. I have created a chore chart for myself to try to stay on task everyday...it only works some of the time, but I know it will work great once I get a little more motivation behind me pushing me forward. We are going to be traveling to Utah next week for Thanksgiving to see my parents, brother/sister-in-law, and my grandparents. My parents and brother are drive to Utah for the holiday. I am very excited to introduce Calvin to my grandparents, as he is the first great grandbaby on their side. How fun!!! We will spend a few days down there and then return home....probably to snow.

MaNiC mOnDaY......
Today I am starting a new Monday Tradition called "Manic Monday." I was tagged a little while ago to do a random photo thing and I had so much fun seeing other people's responses and finding out what mine was, that I want to do it weekly until the flame dies. To keep to the spirit of random-ness I am asking for your help in giving suggestions for the upcoming weeks. For today's selection I asked Joel the following questions:
"Pick a number between one and fourteen"....11
"Pick a number between one and twenty".....11
"Pick a number between one and ten"....6
The first question referred to the folder I opened
The second referred to the sub-folder within the folder to select (although this particular folder didn't have any sub-folders, so I just added with number to the last question and counted "MASH" style until I got the picture you see before you now.)

It is one of many pictures I am doing for my updated photography website.So here is how it will work. Each week I will do my best to meet the criteria that you have given me. I may tag a few people, but my hope is that you will just start along with me and we can have fun with this together and maybe make a BLOG TRAIN out of it....haha wouldn't that be fun!?!? (a blog train is a series of links that gets listed at the end of the blog so that others can go to the participating links to see what they did)
