Calvin is very interested in putting anything and everything into his mouth....this is just a little bit too big though!
Calvin just started rolling over in his bed when he is awake, and this is the first time I saw him laying on his tummy when I have gone to check on him. He loves his little silk teddy bear...Can you believe that our sweet little love-bug is going to be 6 months on Saturday?? Wow, time sure has flown! Today was his 6 month check-up. He was a trooper. The doctor said that he is only 1lb over what he should be, but that isn't bad at all! He mentioned that the hope would be that as he continues to grow in height and becomes more mobile that he will grow into what he has. Our next visit isn't until he is 1 year old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crazy.
I think I am going to try to feed him peas tonight. The doctor said that if I tried to give him some protein at night with his cereal that he might start sleeping through the night. In my supply of baby food, the only thing that has good protein in it is the peas. What the heck, it will be fun right? Looking back at these statistics make me start to tear up a bit. Who would have ever thought that I would be updating like this? I knew someday it would happen, but this time last year, I would have never imagined myself being a mommy! The Lord has blessed us to much! Cassandra is our angel and we will ALWAYS have love for her. I feel sorrow in my heart and body when I hear of things being difficult for her, but I rejoice unending knowing that she is with a guy who is helping her feel love again and comfort. Doug, although I don't know him personally, is helping our angel overcome many things in her life. Although young love is hard at times, I am grateful that he is there for her.
In other news, the February Ensign has some great personal letters on Adoption! (they are not available online yet, but once they are I will post them) They are pretty moving, and make me excited to know that we can all be advocated for adoption. I have been thinking of writing a book about all sides of adoption...with viewpoints from those who are pro and con, those who have been the birthparent and the adoptive parent, and those who have have felt pain and happiness through adoption. What do you think? I don't know yet how it will be, but I might just start a blog or something compiling all the different stories that are out there from all sides. It is really eye opening to understand how important adoption is and what emotions are involved in it....
