Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree

Yesterday, Thursday December 3rd, we hastily put up our Christmas tree and decorations so that I could have the exact mood that I wanted for the Chocolate Party I was hosting. If I would have had my way, my decorations would have been up long before Thanksgiving, so this was quite a disappointment for me to have to wait so long to get everything up.

Step by step we got things set up, even with help from the little ones!

The tree is very simply decorated so that the kidlets don't destroy it too much, but I think it look fantastic!  The one thing I love so much about the tree is that it adds such a wonderful feeling to the room!

With the Christmas Holiday soon approaching I am certain that the giving spirit of this season has embraced my heart...I am constantly looking to serve others, although I now know that I should also be focused on serving within my own household as well...one thing I sometimes overlook I suppose!

What types of service are you planning on doing this Christmas season?

We are still deciding on our family service project, but I have to share what my students are doing!
I read "The 12 Days of Christmas" and we decided (I assigned :) ) to do 12 days of service for their family members. They cut out a "secretly serving you" ornament, do some secret service at home, and leave the ornament where the service was done. Then they are writing about their service in a booklet at school each day. They will present their book to their family on Christmas!
