Birthdays......May is the Month for Celebration

In May our families have a lot of birthdays....it seems like they are all back to back to back...we hosted a fun cake and icecream social for Carter at our house. I spent all day making cupcakes and a cake, thinking that we would run out of food. Whelp, I was completely wrong....he had a bunch of friends over, but they really didn't eat much of the cake stuff, even though it was SO GOOD. Needless to say, Levi, Joel and I had a great time munching on that cake for a while. Levi also had a birthday soon after. He and I went to lunch, then for dinner we met up with Cody and Jody. Joel was out of town, so I tried to make it a good day for Levi. His family came to visit over Mother's day weekend, so I made him his requested cake, cheesecake, and we sang to him and enjoyed that nice treat. I think it turned out ok.

Then came my birthday....honestly, it was the worst and best birthday ever! My mom flew into town and surprised me. I guess Joel and her had a master plan that was two months in the making........she came to the door, I answered it, and then burst into tear...I BAWLED like a little baby (and we have video to prove it, although I will not be posting it online). It was SO AWESOME! I couldn't believe it. I have missed home so much since we moved here and having her here with me in my home was just more than I could have ever dreamed. BUT.....that same day, Cbaby started to get a little sick. I thought that it might just be reactions to teething because he was working on five teeth at the same time, which could cause vomiting, diareahha and grumpiness. He vomited on me pretty much three times a day for three days...it wasn't fun. Joel's family came into town that same weekend because Levi was being ordained an Elder. To spare you from the details, Cbaby spread his love to 15 of our visitors, including Joel, Levi and my mother. I spent my birthday taking care of all my household members....and yes, I did help them when they vomited. I never got sick, which was such a blessing......On Tuesday some flowers arrived sent by Joel via ProFlowers. It would have been more expensive to have them delievered on my bday, so he took the next best option. They are so gorgeous and still looking great on my kitchen table. Friday night, we went to China King with Cody's family. I love that restaurant and chose to eat there for my special day. Crazy to think that I am a quarter of a century old!! LOL
