Losing the Crap and Being a Better Person...

(this is a picture I took Saturday night with our new webcam. I want to look this happy all the time! I was able to talk to my parents over the webcam, and although my dad got motion sickness, it was GREAT FUN!)

Sometimes thing happen in life that cause you to re-evaluate things and try to do better, in hopes of becoming that person you dream to be. For me, this event took place this past weekend. Conference helped me get the extra boost I needed, but then just looking at the activities, or lack there-of, in my life and trying to see where I can improve myself really took a toll on me last night. I was able to have an "AWHAW" moment amongst loud conversations and a few tears too. My goal from today until forever is to reduce (hopefully stop completely) the gossip, garbage and heartache that comes from it all. I hope to be able to think before I speak, take Thumper's motto of "if you can't say anything nice, you shouldn't say anything at all" to heart and to just keep some of my thoughts and my opinions to myself. Now, I didn't really get myself in a situation that was completely sticky, but I just realized that my life would be so much better if I could just get rid of that negative part of my life. It will probably be hard, but I know I can do it. Plus, I am not perfect...I have MANY MANY MANY flaws, and I am sure that people see them on a daily basis. The last thing I want to have in my life is someone throwing fault my direction...as long as we all try to do our best, that is all that anyone should care about I suppose. Feel free to join me in this quest to being a better person....I know it will end with GREAT results!

I like your goals. I think I'll try to do the same. It'll be hard, but I agree, it WILL be worth it.

That's my latest struggle too. I have always been the one to say it like it is... no matter what...

but then here and there i find myself in situations where my comments didn't really accomplish much... and i begin to realize that everyone's life (including mine) would have been a tad easier if i would have thought first.

moral of the story? Angela needs to learn to evaluate the desired outcome against the comments she wants to blurt out.

Not as easy, but I guess it might make my life a little better.

good luck in ur quest!

I guess my goal should be to stop being a brat. LOL. Goals are awesome. As human beings we all have something we can fix. I'm probably less of a brat than I was when I first got married, but getting married made me realize how incredibly boosy I was and how I always wanted MY way. I've had to compromise a lot since saying YES to Warren. Being the oldest in my family I was always told my siblings what to do. I'm getting better, I swear it!
