Tonight, as Joel and I were spending some quality time together watching House Bunny, my phone rang. On my caller ID it showed "our angel cassandra" (yes, that is how she is entered into my contacts!) When I saw her name there my heart skipped a beat....after all, literal phone calls to one another are kind of rare. It was so nice to hear her voice though...even if she was a little sick (i didn't notice, but she told me). Have I ever mentioned how grateful I am to have a good relationship with her? (trick question...NOT...the answer is ALL THE TIME!!) I really am. I am grateful that we both have such a strong relationship. It will be great for Calvin's life too! I just know it!
For our gift to Cassandra this year, I created a photo book for her with pictures of our family. I was having major doubts about giving it to her though because I thought that it might be too much, or that she didn't really want to have a book reminding her of things from her past, and I didn't want to make her feel awkward in anyway. But then I remembered, that I promised to send things like that throughout Calvin's life, and took a deep breath and put it in the mail. Today, when she called, she wanted to let us know how much she loved it! (phew! a sigh of relief)
Calvin has been such an amazing blessing to our lives and we are the luckiest parents in the whole wide world! He is a gem that is growing brighter by the day! We love him soo much!
